La Comisión cumplirá una función transitoria por el término de un año o hasta el que se materialice el traslado de los restos mortales de Luis Antonio Robles, desde Bogotá hasta Camarones, La Guajira, lo que suceda primero. Al término de este periodo o de su gestión deberá entregar un informe final de labores con destino al Presidente de la República.
