El artículo 68 del Decreto 1333 de 1986, quedará así:

Artículo 68. Las cifras de población a que se refiere el artículo anterior, serán las correspondientes a las más recientes elaboradas para la totalidad de los municipios del país por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística.

Si el Municipio fuere de creación posterior a la fecha de elaboración de las cifras de que trata este artículo, se tomará en cuenta la población acreditada para la expedición de las ordenanzas que creó el respectivo Distrito Municipal.
