El Consejo Directivo del Instituto de Seguros Sociales podrá castigar aquella cartera de dudoso recaudo cuando ésta tenga un atraso superior a 24 meses, utilizando para el efecto criterios similares a los que rigen en el sistema bancario. En ningún caso el castigo de cartera implicará la condonación de la deuda.
