Todo procesado que no quiera defenderse por sí mismo podrá nombrar hasta dos defensores y un vocero para la audiencia en las causas que merezcan pena de presidio o reclusión por más de dos años. En los demás casos sólo tendrá derecho a un defensor y podrá designar un vocero cuando no haga uso de la palabra en la audiencia. Si no se defiende por sí mismo, ni nombra defensor, se le nombrará uno de oficio por el respectivo Juez sustanciador.
