Art. 16. Si se decretare expropiación sobre un inmueble gravado con hipoteca ó censo, el precio de la indemnización no se entregará al demandado mientras no acredite la cancelación del gravamen, y entre tanto se pondrá en depósito a interés con las seguridades suficientes para que sustituya la hipoteca ó censo. De este procedimiento se dará noticia al acreedor á fin de que pueda hacer uso de su derecho.
