º El artículo cuarenta y dos (42) del Decreto 384 de 1985, quedará así: "Cuando en el beneficio y transformación de metales preciosos se utilice mercurio, cianuro u otros compuestos químicos nocivos o potencialmente nocivos, no podrán verterse directamente a las corrientes de las quebradas o ríos, desechos y aguas residuales que sobrepasen los limites permisibles que las entidades competentes fijen en cada caso para el efecto".
