La persona que diere u ofreciere, o prometiere dar dinero o cosa de valor, directa o indirectamente, a empleado o funcionario de la República en recompensa de acción u omisión contraria a la ley concerniente a la importación, exportación, reconocimiento o aforo de mercancía o a la liquidación de manifiestos, o a propósito de cualquier dato confidencial que posea la aduana; la persona que con amenazas, ruegos o promesas de cualquier clase tratare de influír o imponerse indebidamente sobre funcionario o empleado de la República en el desempeño de sus funciones oficiales, incurrirá en una multa hasta de cinco mil pesos ($5, 000).
