La condecoración "Medalla Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad", en el grado "Cumplimiento Excepcional del Deber", categoría "Especial", consiste en un sol radiante dorado, cuyo centro ostenta el escudo de armas del Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad, esmaltado al fuego y pendiente de una cinta de fondo azul celeste y blanco en cuyo centro lleva una franja vertical con el tricolor nacional. En la categoría "Gran Medalla", tiene las mismas características de la "Especial", pero superpuesta sobre una base radiante en crisacol dorada, asida a un cordón con el tricolor nacional para colocar suspendido en el cuello.
