Consejo Nacional. El Consejo Nacional es un órgano asesor de la Junta Directiva Nacional y estará integrado por los Presidentes de las Unidades Regionales o quienes hagan sus veces, el Presidente del Tribunal Disciplinario; los Presidentes honorarios, los ex Presidentes de la Junta Directiva Nacional; y será presidido por el Presidente de la Junta Directiva Nacional. El Consejo podrá invitar a particulares o servidores públicos a sus deliberaciones. Sus funciones y la periodicidad de sus reuniones, ordinarias o extraordinarias serán establecidas en el reglamento interno. (Artículo 24 del Decreto 1945 de 1996)
