En la ciudad de Bogotá, y en el mismo sitio en donde funcionó el colegio que llevaba su nombre, por cuenta del Tesoro Público será colocada una placa de mármol con la inscripción siguiente:

"El Congreso de la República, al doctor Simón Araujo, educador eximio de juventudes."
