La "Cruz de Hierro" se conferirá a aquellos miembros de las Fuerzas Militares, que al prestar sus servicios en guerra exterior sobresalgan por una acción distinguida de valor, hecho extraordinario, fuera del común cumplimiento del deber. Se conferirá a solicitud del respectivo Comandante en guerra exterior, quien remitirá al Comando General de las Fuerzas Militares para su estudio y resolución, los documentos comprobatorios de que los candidatos han cumplido los requisitos exigidos.
