Los programas de especialización son aquellos que profundizan en un aspecto específico de una profesión o de sus áreas afines, o de su aplicación. Los programas de especialización podrán ser ofrecidos por las universidades o instituciones universitarias, siempre y cuando éstas demuestren que tienen la infraestructura de investigación científica y de servicios académicos necesarios para la especialización.
