Son funciones de la Sección de pasaportes: a). Estudiar y resolver las solicitudes de expedición y revalidación de pasaportes, de acuerdo con las leyes y los reglamentos; b). Llevar un registro de las personas a quienes no se pueda expedir pasaportes por razones de orden legal y mantener informados al respecto a los representantes diplomáticos y consulares colombianos; c). Llevar el registro general de todos los pasaportes expedidos por el Ministerio, las Embajadas y Consulados de Colombia en el exterior, por las Gobernaciones, Intendencias y Comisarías.
