Control fiscal. La Contraloría General de la República ejercerá la vigilancia sobre el manejo de los fondos o bienes del Instituto por medio de sus auditores y con aplicación de reglamentos acordes con la índole de la entidad y el género de actividades a ella encomendadas, de modo que dejen a salvo su autonomía administrativa, de conformidad con las normas legales.
