La República enaltece la memoria del distinguido ingeniero Francisco Gómez Escobar y reconoce los servicios prestados a la industria minera y a la cultura nacional por tan esclarecido ciudadano, como Profesor de Metalurgia en la Escuela Nacional de Minas, como Auditor del Ferrocarril de Antioquia, y como excelente escritor, que hizo prestigioso el seudónimo Efe Gómez.
