Toda nave o artefacto naval de matrícula colombiana debe izar en lugar visible el pabellón nacional y llevará su nombre marcado en cada lado dé la proa, en la popa y en lugares destacados de los costados de la caseta de gobierno. En la popa llevará además el nombre del puerto de registro. Lo anterior, sin perjuicio de lo que dispongan los tratados, convenios, acuerdos y prácticas, celebrados o acogidos por el país, para tal efecto.
