Excepcionalmente, el Fiscal podrá decretar medidas cautelares antes de la demanda de extinción de dominio, en casos de evidente urgencia o cuando existan serios motivos fundados que permitan considerar la medida como indispensable y necesaria para cumplir con alguno de los fines descritos en el artículo 87 de la presente ley. Estas medidas cautelares no podrán extenderse por más de seis (6) meses, término dentro del cual el Fiscal deberá definir si la acción debe archivarse o si por el contrario resulta procedente presentar demanda de extinción de dominio ante el juez de conocimiento.
