Art. 76. En caso de que se imponga la pena de confinamiento, el Gobierno podrá conmutar ésta por arresto, en razón de un día de arresto por cada cinco de confinamiento. No se designará para el confinamiento un lugar insalubre. Si el confinado prefiriere ausentarse del país, se le permitirá hacerlo dentro de un término prudencial, permaneciendo arrestado entre tanto, si no diere fianza de cárcel.
