Art. 2244. El depósito propiamente dicho es gratuito.

Si se estipula remuneración por la simple custodia de una cosa, el depósito degenera en arrendamiento de servicio, i el que presta el servicio es responsable hasta de la culpa leve; pero bajo todo otro respecto, está sujeto a las obligaciones del depositario i goza de los derechos de tal.
