° Al cumplir el maestro cuatro años de servicio en cada categoría, será promovido a la inmediatamente superior, para lo cual bastará solicitarlo así, por escrito, a la respectiva Junta Seccional del Escalafón de Enseñanza Primaria, petición que habrá de ser resuelta en el término de un mes. El término de cuatro años para el ascenso de una a otra categoría, podrá prorrogarse por dos años más, cuando la hoja de servicios del aspirante demuestre causas de notoria deficiencia que, a juicio de la Junta, justifiquen el retardo del ascenso.
