Créase un Cuerpo especial de Gendarmería, que no bajará de treinta (30) hombres, cuya misión será repeler las irrupciones de los indios motilones en la comarca comprendida entre los Corregimientos de Becerril y La Paz en el Departamento de Santa Marta, dar seguridad á los viajeros que por allí transiten y proteger las poblaciones y haciendas de esa zona.
