El artículo 293 de la Ley 79 de 1931 sustituido por el artículo 2º del Decreto 2697 de diciembre 17 de 1976, quedará así: Estarán libres de derechos de importación las prendas personales y el menaje doméstico pertenecientes a extranjeros que lleguen al país a establecerse permanentemente en él, y a colombianos domiciliados en el país o en el extranjero que regresen después de una ausencia temporal no menor de un (1) año en el exterior sin haber desempeñado cargo diplomático o consular de la República.
