Autoridades Sanitarias del Sistema de Vigilancia en Salud Pública. Para efectos de la aplicación del presente Capítulo, entiéndase por Autoridades Sanitarias del Sivigila, el Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social; el Instituto Nacional de Salud (INS); el Instituto Nacional de Vigilancia de Medicamentos y Alimentos (Invima), las Direcciones Territoriales de Salud, y todas aquellas entidades que de acuerdo con la ley ejerzan funciones de vigilancia y control sanitario, las cuales deben adoptar medidas sanitarias que garanticen la protección de la salud pública y el cumplimiento de lo dispuesto en esta norma, así como adelantar los procedimientos y aplicar las sanciones a que hubiere lugar.
