Son funciones de la Subdivisión de Química

Efectuar los análisis de las drogas para uso humano o animal, alimentos, cosméticos, bebidas alcohólicas y no alcohólicas, jabones, insecticidas y demás artículos de índole médica o alimenticia importados o nacionales que afecten la salud individual o colectiva.

Efectuar los análisis necesarios para determinar el valor nutricional de los alimentos y bebidas que integran la dieta colombiana.

Los demás análisis necesarios para fines de salud pública, de acuerdo con la solicitud de entidades gubernamentales.
