º . Límite Temporal . El Director General del INPEC deberá determinar, al momento de decretar el estado de emergencia penitenciaria y carcelaria a que se refiere el artículo 168 de la Ley 65 de 1993, el período de duración de dicho estado, dependiendo de las causas que le dieron origen. En el evento en que las causas que motivaron la declaratoria de emergencia persistan al vencimiento del término señalado, el Director General del INPEC podrá prorrogarlo, previo informe al Consejo Directivo.
