La ZVTN está ubicada de común acuerdo y cuenta con facilidades de acceso, sus límites corresponden a la vereda o veredas en donde se ubica; pudiendo ser ampliada o reducida por mutuo acuerdo dependiendo del tamaño, tiene una extensión razonable que permite el monitoreo y verificación por parte del MM&V y el cumplimiento de los objetivos de la ZVTN. La Zona no incluye áreas urbanas, centros poblados, cabeceras municipales, ni corregimentales, ni vías principales.
