Cuando el juez municipal o la autoridad de Policía en su caso, inicie la investigación de un asunto que le corresponda fallar, tendrá un término de quince días para la formación y perfeccionamiento del sumario, salvo que deban practicarse pruebas fuera del lugar, caso en el cual se ampliará el término por el de la distancia y diez días más.
