Entiéndese por servicio exterior la actividad administrada por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, en desarrollo de la política exterior de Colombia, dentro o fuera del territorio de la República, con el fin de representar los intereses del Estado y de proteger y asistir a sus nacionales en el exterior.
