ART 196. Las penas señaladas en los artículos 579 y 580 del Código Penal á los calumniadores, suponen que la calumnia ha sido pública. Si no lo fuere, se aplicará la mitad de la pena que debería corresponder, si el delito hubiera sido público, en cada uno de los dos casos prescritos en dichos artículos.
