Art. 1º. La Nación reconoce como deuda suya, i a cargo de su Tesoro, la suma a que ascienden los intereses estipulados en los contratos celebrados en el año 1860 entre el gobierno de la Confederacion Granadina i la antigua casa comercial de C. Hawer Simmonds & C. ª, de Santamarta, capitales que fueron mandados pagar por sentencia de la Corte Suprema federal de 30 de noviembre de 1866. En tal virtud, el Poder Ejecutivo liquidará los intereses de los citados documentos hasta el dia 31 de enero de 1867.
