Características. La joya consiste en una medalla de forma circular de cincuenta milímetros de diámetro, circundada por un laurel. Tiene en su interior cuatro franjas cada una con cinco rayos brillantes en alto relieve, con un fondo acabado mate - opaco. El centro de la medalla llevará el escudo de la respectiva Fuerza, de veinte milímetros, con sus respectivos colores. El reverso de la medalla llevará en el texto “DESAFIÉ LA MUERTE POR SALVAR LA PATRIA”, en alto relieve. El acabado será en plata antigua, penderá de una cinta calidad motre de (40) cuarenta milímetros de ancho por (55) cincuenta y cinco milímetros de alto, así: franja central de (14) catorce milímetros en color rojo, bordes verde aceituna de trece milímetros, con barreta metálica de cuarenta milímetros.
