º. Definición. El Registro Nacional de Desaparecidos es un sistema de información referencial de datos suministrados por las entidades intervinientes de acuerdo con sus funciones, que constituye una herramienta de información veraz, oportuna y útil para identificar cadáveres sometidos a necropsia médicolegal en el territorio nacional, orientar la búsqueda de personas reportadas como víctimas de desaparición forzada y facilitar el seguimiento de los casos y el ejercicio del Mecanismo de Búsqueda Urgente.
