Son funciones de la Dirección General de Desarrollo Pedagógico:

Diseñar y aplicar mecanismos de control de calidad pedagógica que aseguren niveles aceptables de formación de personal docente.

Dirigir y coordinar la elaboración de programas de capacitación del personal docente al servicio del sector educativo nacional de acuerdo con las necesidades del servicio.

Coordinar con los Centros Experimentales Piloto, CEP, la experimentación, adaptación, implantación y evaluación de los programas curriculares y de capacitación pedagógica en las regiones.
