Desde el 1° de enero de 1948 la Nación contribuye, por una sola vez, con la suma de doscientos mil pesos ($ 200.000) para la construcción de la Catedral de Barranquilla, aumentando así el aporte que hasta ahora ha dado, cumplidos como están los requisitos establecidos por la Ley 71 de 1946 .
