Art. 218. Cuando se imponga una multa que debe entrar en el Tesoro nacional, el funcionario ó empleado que la imponga pasará oficio con copia del auto ó la resolución, al empleado que deba cobrarla, para que éste la perciba.

Si no se paga la multa dentro de tres días se convierte por el que la impuso en arresto, á razón de un día por cada peso.
