ARTICULO 28 . DE LOS REQUISITOS PARA ASCENSO. Para las licencias de navegación posteriores, se deben llenar los siguientes requisitos generales

Tener más de 20 años, y menos de 60. (Para licencia de Capitán o Patrón, la edad mínima será de 24 años).

Acreditar debidamente la idoneidad correspondiente mediante exámenes o curso especial.

Haber aprobado el curso o cursos de seguridad o actualización que determine la Autoridad Marítima para dicho ascenso.
