Son deberes de los funcionarios de la carrera diplomática y consular

a)

Lealtad al espíritu de la Constitución y de las Leyes de la República.

b)

Eficiencia, imparcialidad y discreción en la prestación del servicio encomendado a su pericia;

c)

Acatamiento a los superiores jerárquicos, en cuanto se trate del cumplimiento de sus funciones;

d)

Honorabilidad y buena fama en su comportamiento social, y

e)

Los demás que determinen las leyes y decretos pertinentes.
