Corresponde a los Consejos Intendenciales y Comisariales, en sus respectivas jurisdicciones, cumplir las funciones que el artículo 187 de la Constitución asigna a las Asambleas Departamentales, salvo aquellas que, en armonía con lo dispuesto en el artículo 6º. de la Constitución Nacional, se otorgan en esta ley, al Gobierno Nacional, al Departamento Administrativo de Intendencias y Comisarías o a otras entidades.

Ley 22 de 1985 · por la cual se dictan normas sobre el Régimen Administrativo de las Intendencias y Comisarías, se faculta al Presidente de la República para reorganizar el Departamento Administrativo de Intendencias y Comisarías, modificar el Régimen Administrativo, Contractual y Fiscal en estas entidades territoriales y se dictan otras disposiciones.
