La Regional Florencia Universidad Surcolombiana, Acuerdo 032 de 1979, creada por la Ley 13 de 1976 , se denominará Universidad de la Amazonia una vez sea reconocida institucionalmente como universidad, de conformidad con el procedimiento establecido en el Decreto 2747 de 1980.
