Áreas forestales productoras. Se consideran áreas forestales productoras:

Las áreas cubiertas de bosques naturales, que por su contenido maderable sean susceptibles de un aprovechamiento racional y económico siempre que no estén comprendidas dentro de las áreas protectoras-productoras a que se refieren los artículos 7° y 9° de este decreto;

Las áreas cubiertas de bosques artificiales establecidas con fines comerciales;

Las áreas que estando o no cubiertas de bosques, se consideren aptas para el cultivo forestal por sus condiciones naturales.
