Requisitos. Son requisitos mínimos necesarios para el otorgamiento de la medalla Militar “San Rafael Arcángel”, los siguientes.

a. Otorgamiento para particulares sin ningún tipo de vinculación pasada o presente con la institución.

b. Demostración de una conducta caracterizada por su bondad, respeto y aprecio por el soldado del Ejército Nacional de Colombia, especialmente con los heridos en combate.

c. Distinción excepcional, por el apoyo voluntario desinteresado y que hayan impactado notablemente en los procesos de recuperación médica, psicológica o social de los heridos en combate y/o familiares.
