Artículo primero . Las sociedades mutuarias son instituciones de utilidad común, constituidas por personas naturales que, sin ánimo de lucro, tienen como actividad principal la ayuda mutua, mediante la prestación de servicio de asistencia social, de previsión y solidaridad a sus asociados.
