Definición. El Pilar Semicontributivo del Sistema de Protección Social Integral para la Vejez, Invalidez y Muerte de origen común es el mecanismo de protección social creado para que las personas que a los 65 años de edad hombres y 60 años de edad mujeres no hayan cumplido con los requisitos para acceder a una pensión en el Pilar Contributivo o los requisitos para acceder a la prestación anticipada de vejez, obtengan una Renta Vitalicia como mecanismo de protección para la vejez o la indemnización sustitutiva y/o devolución de saldos de vejez, según corresponda.
