Todo establecimiento bancario mantendrá en depósito, en poder del Superintendente, en calidad de prenda y como garantía de que cumplirá las disposiciones de esta Ley, valores de primera clase, que devenguen intereses, a satisfacción del Superintendente, hasta por la suma de dos mil pesos, si el capital y las reservas de la institución son de cien mil pesos o menos, y hasta por cinco mil pesos, si su capital y reservas pasan de cien mil pesos. Estos valores se consignarán a nombre del Superintendente como fideicomiso a favor del respectivo establecimiento bancario.
