El artículo 311 del Código de Comercio quedará así: El porteador goza del derecho de retención sobre los efectos que conduce, hasta que le sean pagado el porte y los gastos que hubiere suplido.
Este derecho se transmite de un porteador a otro, hasta el último que verifique la restitución.
No habrá lugar a depósito hasta que cese el derecho de retención.
