En la parte más visible del Parque de la Independencia, de la capital de la República, se erigirá una estatua en bronce, en tamaño natural, del General Rafael Reyes, la que será colocada sobre un pedestal de mármol que llevara la siguiente inscripción:

"El Congreso de Colombia de 1948 al gran colombiano General Rafael Reyes, en el centenario de su nacimiento, 1850-1950."
