Art. 2.° El privilejio que se concede por el artículo anterior, durará por cuarenta i nueve años, si el costo de la obra del canal no escediere de un millon de libras esterlinas; si escediere de esta suma, la estension del privilejio so aumentará un año mas por cada cien mil libras en que se aumente el costo; pero en ningun caso podrá esceder de ochenta años la duracion total del privilejio, sea cual fuere la suma invertida en la obra del canal.
