La presente Ley rige a partir de su promulgación y deroga todas las disposiciones que le sean contrarias, en especial el artículo 6º de la Ley 6ª de 1958, el inciso 3º del artículo 244 y los artículos 245,246 y 248 del Decreto-ley 1222 de 1986, así como las demás disposiciones que le sean contrarias.
