Artículo veintiocho. En toda sentencia condenatoria, se fijará un plazo no mayor de quince días para que el sindicado consigne la multa a que haya sido condenado. Si vencido el plazo señalado no se verificare la consignación, el Juez convertirá la multa en arresto, a razón de un día por cada cinco pesos, pero la duración de éste no podrá exceder en ningún caso de tres años.
