De conformidad con lo dispuesto en el inciso 2° del artículo transitorio 17 de la Constitución Política, la primera elección de Gobernadores para los Departamentos del Amazonas, Guaviare, Guainía, Vaupés y Vichada se hará en la misma fecha que señale la ley para la próxima elección de Gobernadores en los restantes departamentos del territorio nacional.
